About the doctor:

Dr. George Dimogerontas is a neurosurgeon specialized in both classical and modern (minimally invasive) Neurosurgery, as well as in Spinal Surgery.

He graduated with honors in Medicine from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1988.


He is one of the first spine surgeons in Europe and the only certified neurosurgeon in Greece using the ExcelsiusGPS (Globus) robotic guidance and navigation system in spinal surgery.

He specialised in neurosurgery for 6 years (2002-2008) at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Asclepion Hospital in Voula, Greece, where he remained for 3 years (2009-2012) as Assistant Attending Consultant, with further specialization in spinal surgery, functional neurosurgery, neurosurgical oncology and the treatment of central nervous system trauma.

He served as a Consultant (2013-2017) and Associate Director of the Neurosurgical Department of Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Surgery of Metropolitan Hospital, Neo Faliro, Greece, for 4 years.

He also served as a Director of Minimal Invasive and Robotic Neurosurgical Department of Metropolitan Hospital, Athens, Greece.

Lastly, he served as Chief (Scientific Director) of the Neurosurgery Clinic of Metropolitan Hospital, Athens, Greece.

Today, he serves as Director of Neurosurgery at Peristeri Clinic and Psychiko Clinic of Athens Medical Group.

He has presented 158 oral presentations in Greek and international conferences and has published more than 25 articles in Greek and international journals.

Education:

Graduation with honors from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
He specialized in the 1st General Surgery Clinic and the Neurology Clinic of Evangelismos, the Neurosurgery Clinic of Agios Savas and the Neurosurgery Clinic of Asclepion Hospital in Voula, Greece.
He has a Master’s degree (MSc) in Health Services Administration, Athens, Greece.
He holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and his research focused on benign and malignant tumors of the human brain.
He is skilled in robotic spinal surgery, Philadelphia, USA.
